I'll Drive On Whatever Street I Damn Well Want To
Last night was grocery shopping night. So, I went grocery shopping. Also yesterday, the reconstruction of Erb Street from Westmount to Fischer-Hallman started. Erb will be closed to westbound traffic for 8 months. I usually take Erb to get to Zehrs, so I had to find a detour. The most logical route is to take Keats Way. However when I went to take that detour there was a big sign that said "Detour Traffic Not To Use Keats Way", or something. I'm sure it was a concession to the residents of the neighbourhood that serves Keats Way who don't want "other" people driving on "their" street. But seriously, do they expect me to not use that street because of a giant sign? It's the quickest way to get where I'm going so I'm going to use it.

Concertopia
Well, I found the NyQuil (actually it was the NeoCitran version of NyQuil) and I finally fell asleep at around 3:30. And as I thought, I was pretty much useless today.
Last night I went with Dan and Faith to a worship music concert. Afterwards, we got the offending Slurpee. But as it was in perfect condition, staying awake was totally worth it.
Speaking of concerts, I went to see Great Big Sea the other week in London with Spirit of the West opening for them. I had forgotten how much fun GBS concerts are and I liked their newer songs, even though I haven't heard them since I haven't bought their new albums in the last few years. So, that was a pleasant surprise. But even as good was seeing Spirit of the West. Now, all I really know is their album "Save This House" on which "Home For A Rest" is on, so I was happy when I really enjoyed all of these songs I didn't know. Last year they released a 2 disc Best Of album... I think I might have to pick it up.
Tonight is Monday and you know what that means... Grocery shopping.

I Could Have Called This One
Between sleeping in until almost noon and drinking a giant Slurpee at around 9:30 tonight, I can't sleep. It's past 3am and I'm completely wired. This does not bode well for work tomorrow, especially in my line of "self-motivated" work. I can guarantee that I won't be feeling very motivated tomorrow... more so than usual.
Maybe I can find some NyQuil around here...

Last night I ended up getting Swiss Chalet takeout and I stopped in for a Slurpee. The Slurpee was tasty but a little on the liquidy side to be considered best quality. I then spent the rest of the night playing Halo 3 with Joe and then wasting time on the internet until almost 2. I slept in until 11:45 this morning and it wasn't one of those times where you just don't get up... I actually slept that long. I'll probably have trouble getting to sleep tonight, for sure.
For the rest of the day... well, it's wide open at this point (ie. no plans). I've already had toast for breakfast. I look around my apartment and it's pretty messy, I suppose I should clean it, but I have no space for everything. I'd like to rearrange my workspace because it's becoming monotonous to work there lately, but unfortunately it's the only configuration I can make work with my current desk. I'd like to get a new desk, but I don't want to get one before I buy a house... for which I've stopped looking. The housing market is ruled by couples/families or by people who get mortgages for more than they should.

To Fill The Blogging Void
Sorry for not updating in a while. Well, to tell you the truth, I'm not sorry. There hasn't been anything of significance on here since... well, ever. But in the interest of making it seem like there stuff to write about going on in my life, here's a post:
It was a nice day outside, so I went for a walk. About an hour to the far side of the UW south campus and back. I should get out more, I've gained back about 10 lbs since I stopped Weight Watchers. I don't know what I'm going to do tonight. I'm thinking Swiss Chalet take-out for dinner... perhaps get a Slurpee. Afterwards I might play some Civ 4 or maybe if Joe's online, I'll play some Rocket Race games on Halo 3.
Exciting times.

Just Throwing This Out There: Google Latitude
Does anyone out there use Google Latitude on their cellphone? I've been really itching to try it out and see how it works, but alas, I have no friends... on my Latitude friends list, I mean. You don't have to share with me forever. Just a few days to try it out, then you can delete me.
I think it could be a really handy tool. Say you have a friend coming to visit from out of town... You can check Latitude to see how close they are to arriving, which is kinda cool.

BNL Musings
I suppose most have heard the news this week that Steven Page is leaving the Barenaked Ladies. As they've been my favourite band for a long time, I have some mixed feelings about this. Firstly, I'm sad that they're losing a member, but at the same time I'm happy that they're going to continue as a band and I'm really curious how the band will work as a foursome (or with a replacement, whatever the case may be). I'll be looking to catch their show as soon as they start touring again.
