Mario Kart Wii

I picked up Mario Kart Wii last week. Does anyone else have this game and want to play online? Let me know and we can swap friend codes. All I have so far are the Wilson's, and Patrick cleaned up last time we played. Also, last night I played random online races for the first time, which is much more fun than the single player Grand Prix, which I find has way too much randomness.

This Music Is Sick

So, I was feeling sick last Thursday and Friday, but I still had to be at my computer doing work. As usual, I was playing music on my really expensive mp3 player (my iMac) and I noticed something very strange... the music seemed slow. It wasn't that I was playing a slow song, it was actually a song with a quick tempo. And it wasn't only one song because I changed songs and the same thing happened. I just found this phenomenon odd. See, if anything, I would figure that being sick would make your mind slower and therefore everything else seem relatively faster.

Is This Out Of The Blu?

So, I think I've decided it's time to get a Blu Ray player. Does anyone out there have one yet? Anything from your experience that you can pass along to me? I'm not sure of the actual player to get at the moment. Do I get the PS3 or a stand alone player? The thing with the PS3 is that apparently it's one of the better BD players out there, but I'm not sure if I would actually use it for gaming since my gaming needs are being met by my XBox 360 and Wii. I could go for a stand alone player, but I'm not sure which are better. After a bit of research I'm leaning towards the Sony BDP-S350, which is $269 compared to the PS3 at $399. Any thoughts out there?

Watch Smarter, Not Harder

I'm a month and a half into my new life without cable tv. So far, it's been mostly good with a few drawbacks. Drawback #1 definitely has to be that I can't watch Curling. This is going to suck even harder when the Tournament of Hearts and the Brier come around. But other than that, it's been a mostly positive experience.

While I haven't been watching more tv, I've been watching more quality tv. I've been able to keep up with Lost, Battlestar Galactica, The Office and 24 so far. But the best has been the discovery of my new favourite show... Chuck. Chuck has it all working for it right now: really funny (with plenty of geek and regular humour), a super-hot lead actress, a Firefly alumni, and what I think is the best use of a soundtrack I've seen in a show in a while. Anyway, Season 1 had been sitting on my hard drive for a few months now and with the absence of cable, I finally took the time to watch it. I'm so glad I did too. Now, unfortunately, I'm at the horrible but inevitable point where I've caught up on all the episodes and now have to wait for new ones just the rest of the suckers.

All that, and my Wii has been keeping my tv busy.

Happy Groundhog Day! Happy Groundhog Day! Happy Groundhog Day! Happy...

Seeing that there's been a lack of blogging lately around here, let me let you in on my biggest piece of news of the last week. I finally bought myself a Wii! After finally deciding that I'm definately going to buy one (after playing World of Goo at Dan's), it only took me 2 evenings of searching before finding one at Toys R Us. In fact, while the Walmarts, Future Shops, Best Buys, EB Games, etc were all out of stock, Toys R Us had about 10 in stock. So, if anyone is looking for one, I'd suggest trying that store.

The only game I have right now is Wii Sports, but I've downloaded World of Goo, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People 1, and the original Legend of Zelda.

On the list of things to get include Mario Kart and Wii Fit. I also want to check out (read: rent) Wii Music and Tiger Woods 2009. I'm not sure if I want to get Tiger Woods for Wii or Xbox.

CSI: Slurpee Conditions

Went to get a Slurpee tonight and when I got to the store, there was a hand-written note on the windows that said "Closed due to robbery". No Slurpee tonight. Dat’n-doo-dow-dow-dat’n-doo-dow.
